My first Zentangle!

Last night when I was blog-hopping looking for inspiration, I came across the 'Less is More' Challenge 63. Their challenge this week is one layer to feature 'doodling'. "This can be in any form you wish, faux stitching, hand written or drawn elements on your card, zentangle. As long as you create something with 'ink' by hand." Well, I was intrigued, I've never heard of zentangle. After a bit of searching I discovered that it is something I do all the time, especially when I'm on the phone or if I have to listen to something like a lecture for hours on end. As a fan of trying any new techniques I come across, I had to give it a go and this is my first effort, not anywhere near as good as some I saw when searching or some of the more aimless scribbles I've done in the past, but you have to start somewhere!

I decided to tangle my name by choosing a pattern starting with each letter of my nickname: S for Squid (Purple); T for Tripoli (Blue); E for Echoism (Green) and finally F for Fengle (Pink). Most of the ones I saw online were black and white so I'm not sure if using coloured ink is officially allowed, but it still fits the challenge and it definitely is a technique that I will practise and hopefully improve upon!
