Bev' original card used for inspiration |
I have chosen the turquoise and lime colours (along with black and white) to fit in with the ShowCASe your style challenge #6: Colour challenge. The inks are Versacolor Turquoise and Split Pea. To make the leaves I have coloured a piece of hammered cardstock with Split Pea ink and punched with a Martha Stewart leaf punch.
This CAS challenge is new to me and this card is definitely where my style is at the moment. I will also enter it into Darnell's challenge and see whether she thinks my NNBUS card is better than my RONBUS one!
My second card uses stuff that I have had for years and personally I don't like it as much as the first card. It reminds me of cards I would have made a few years back and I guess that's why!
The die is an XCut Lacé die and I thought I would use it given its appropriateness to the time of year. The fabric brad is from a set called Riverbank Revels by Trimcraft. I think I bought both these items in a sale quite some years ago! The sentiment stamp is a freebie from a craft mag that I have had for ages. CASology have linked in with Darnell's challenge this week and have NBUS as their cue card so I would like to enter this into their challenge #129 (I think you can only enter once otherwise I would have entered both cards) and also into Darnell's (where I know you can enter more than once).
Edit: I can't see how to enter two cards from the same post on my blog into the same link more than once on a challenge blog.
I have also colour-themed it to fit in with another new challenge to me Colour Me where the colours are Pacific Point and Real Red (along with neutrals).
That's all from me today. I will be back later in the week with my CAS Colours and Sketches card. A new year and I have entered three new to me challenges. Can't be bad!
Take care
Stef x
Great cards Stef! Love how you CASEd Bev's card and that heart die is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteLovely cards, so pretty. Thank you so much for joining us this week at CASology
ReplyDeleteHA! I love how you've expanded NBUS to RONBUS! What an interesting die - I love how it folds back to reveal colour underneath! So glad you joined us at CASology this week!
ReplyDeleteI love all three of your creations Stef, and love your new acronyms too! Your Colour Me card is awesome. The hearts die is so cool. Thanks for playing along with us this week!
ReplyDeletefun design, I love the hearts! thank you for joining us at Colour Me!
ReplyDeleteFinally, I'm here, Stef! You are very clever with all your initials, but there is no need for them unless you want to differentiate. Under the rules tab at the top of my home page, you can see that NBUS is intended to cover both old and new schtuff. It's too hard to break it down otherwise, because when does new schtuff move over into the category of old schtuff, you know? There would have to be some kind of arbitrary date or year chosen. So, to make it easier, as long as it's virginal and it's getting used, it's a very good thing. (Now, having said that, I personally feel good when I get back in there and use my very old neglected virgin schtuff!)
ReplyDeleteBoth of your cards are a delight to me! Your CASE of Bev's card is spot on and amazing! Any time you CASE someone it's a compliment and I'm sure Bev would be thrilled to see that you have CASEd her so perfectly!!
And I think your RONBUS card is great, too! I love how you've used the on-trend angles in your design. Maybe the button ages it a bit (?), because all the other elements are up-to-date and fantastic!
Thank you so much for entering both the CASology and NBUS challenges! I'm glad that you were able to use your other account to upload your second card from this post. You are correct, however, that doing it that way does not allow anyone to comment on it. In this case, I think that's okay, because they can come to this post to comment. It did serve it's purpose by letting you link twice to NBUS (whee!) and it also let me pin your card to my NBUS Challenge #3 Pinterest board, so it's all good!!
Have a great day and I hope to see you again soon! Hugs, Darnell
Totally honoured that you were inspired to CASE me, of course I don't mind! Love your CASE too, the colours are scrumptious. Hugs Bev x
